A VICTIM has been left with a serious head injury after an attack outside a Benfleet restaurant.

Essex Police have launched a witness appeal as part of their investigation into a serious assault.

This was outside a restaurant in Hart Road, Benfleet, between the hours of 12:30am and 1:30am, on Sunday, December 17.

The victim, a man, was reportedly assaulted by an unknown suspect.

This has caused him to suffer a serious head injury.

Essex Police has urged witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman said: “Officers investigating a serious assault in Benfleet are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

“Our investigation into this incident is ongoing.

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage, then please get in contact with us.

“Please quote reference number 42/224775/23.”
