TRAIN drivers are set to stage a series of fresh strikes tomorrow and an overtime ban in their long-running dispute over pay, causing more travel chaos for passengers.

Members of ASLEF will take part in a rolling programme of one-day strikes from January 30 to February 5 and ban overtime for nine days from January 29.

c2c bosses have since confirmed the impact the upcoming strike action will have on its services.

As a result of the strikes, there will be no c2c trains on the c2c route on February 2.

c2c bosses add that there will be a reduced services between Monday, January 29, to Thursday, February 1, as well as between Saturday February 3, and Tuesday, February 6.

All the strike action is expected to cause "significant disruption".

Rob Mullen, c2c Managing Director, said: “I am really disappointed that an agreement with ASLEF hasn’t been reached.

"The impact of this ongoing action is significant for our customers and colleagues.

"I am hopeful that further meetings with the unions are productive and see progress made toward concluding this challenging time for the railway.”
