Police have issued an update on their investigation into a south Essex hit-and-run after a cyclist was left with serious injuries.
Officers urged witnesses to come forward earlier this month after it was reported a car and bike had crash in Southend Road, Billericay on Saturday, January 6.
The car - a Peugeot - had failed to stop at the scene while the cyclist was left with serious injuries.
Now, police have confirmed, a suspect has been identified.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Thank you to everyone that contacted us with information following a collision in Billericay where a cyclist sustained serious injuries.
"A suspect has now been identified, arrested and released on bail.
"It was reported a car and a bike were in collision in Southend Road, at the junction with Outwood Common, at around 6.30am on Saturday (6 January).
"The car – a Peugeot – failed to stop at the scene while the cyclist was left with multiple fractures."
