WEAPONS and suspected class A and B drugs have been seized by police after a raid at a block of flats in south Essex.
Specialist police officers and Basildon's community policing team raided an address close to Wickford town centre in the early hours of this morning.
Inside the Cranfield Court address, in Market Avenue, officers seized a number of offensive weapons and suspected class A and B drugs.
Essex Police's dog unit and drone officers were also involved in the raid.
A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, and possession of an offensive weapon.
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.
The teenager remains in custody while the man has been released under investigation.
Inspector Steve Parry said: “This operation was made possible through the work of multiple specialist teams.
“Our Community Policing Team, the Operational Support Group, our dog unit and our drone officers, all played a part in ensuring this warrant was carried out swiftly and effectively.
“We will now continue to build this case , and our enquiries are ongoing.”
