A much-loved boat trip operator has revealed when its tours from Southend Pier will return after "unexpected issues".
Jetstream Tours, which offers Thames Estuary cruises from Southend Pier to the eerie Second World War Redsand Towers and Kent, unveiled the largest passenger vessel to cruise the Thames Estuary when it was put in service last year.
Passengers were excited to see the new vessel in the summer- Cruiser - as it is capable of carrying up to 250 people on the renowned excursions.
However, the firm has revealed it has been "slow progress" aboard Cruiser after "unexpected issues" while in dry dock.
A Jetstream Tours spokesman shared: "It’s been slow progress aboard Cruiser as we found some unexpected issues whilst in dry dock which resulted in her toilets needing to be removed, steel work replaced, sewage tank repairs and toilets completely refitted."
Thankfully, passengers will be welcomed aboard for more estuary cruises "very soon" as trips are set to return in April - with a Redsand Towers tour on April 5 available to book now.
"We are planning to resume tours in April and will be able to welcome you back aboard our flagship for more estuary cruises very soon," the spokesman added.
"Queenborough to Southend is now available to book online. Other tours will be available shortly."
