Greensward Academy welcomed Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, to celebrate the school's recent Ofsted inspection success.
The visit recognised the 'Good' rating it achieved.
In his interaction with the school community, Mr Francois explored numerous ways to lend his support.
A trip for the students to the Houses of Parliament is already underway, allowing them to gain a first-hand understanding of the nation’s political landscape.
Mr Francois also used his visit to engage students in discussions on various hot-button issues in education.
The importance of staying informed and being a part of shaping the future of education was emphasised.
Mark Francois MP said: "It is always good to visit Greensward especially when they have just had such an impressive Ofsted Inspection which resulted in a very strong grade of good.
"I would like to congratulate Mrs Scarnell, all the staff and pupils at the school for this very impressive achievement."
Expressing her gratitude, Principle Katie Scarnell said: "We are very grateful to Mark for the time he has taken to visit us today.
"His support of the staff and students at Greensward is excellent and I cannot thank him enough for taking time out of his very busy schedule."
