An Essex Police spokesman said: "A drug expert witness established there were 178 plants in total which would yield almost 15kg of cannabis with a wholesale price of £52,500.
"A 29 year-old man was arrested."
Arber Tota, of no fixed address, has now been charged with production of cannabis in connection with the investigation.
He was due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today.
