A MAN in his fifties was hit by an ambulance last night in Basildon, with police urging any witness to get in touch.

An ambulance hit a pedestrian who was taken to hospital having sustained a number of facial injuries - though the man's injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Essex police alongside other emergency services were called to the incident in Nethermayne at the junction with Ashdon Way at about 11.45pm last night. 

No arrests have been made and the ambulance driver is helping officers with their enquiries.

Essex police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of it or has any information to get in touch.
