A MAJOR south Essex road near popular pubs and restaurants is set to be closed for more than two weeks in March.
Essex Way, in South Benfleet, is set to be closed for 17 days from March 29 as mains replacement works are carried out.
Cadent will be carrying out the works in the road to replace old iron gas mains with "more durable" plastic pipes.

The major road will be closed between High Road and School Lane, next to the Anchor Inn pub and the Mumtaz Mahal restaurant. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Delays are expected while the closure is in place, one.network says.
