Homes in Southend and Westcliff are without power - following a cut caused by a fault to an underground electric cable.
Homes in the SS9 2 and SS9 3, stretching from the Highlands Blvd area, past Eastwood Road and to Manchester Drive, are being affected by a sudden, unplanned power cut.
According to UK Power Networks, the reason is "a fault that has occurred on an underground electricity cable affecting the local area", with roadworks potentially necessary to resolve the issue.
UK Power Networks are currently investigating and fixing the issue, with work ongoing to restore power to those affected by between 12pm and 1pm.
