AN air ambulance landed on Mersea Island after a man got into “difficulty in the sea”.
Three ambulance service vehicles and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to Coast Road, West Mersea, at about 2.30pm on Saturday.
The Gazette understands a man had fallen into the sea from the hammerhead jetty.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.30pm on Saturday, February 24 with reports that a man had gone into difficulty in the sea by Coast Road in West Mersea.
“An ambulance, rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
“The man was assessed and treated at the scene and did not require transportation to hospital.”
HM Coastguard was notified but ultimately wasn’t required to get involved.
