THE "voice of Strictly Come Dancing" who plays to an audience of millions every year is set to bring his first headline tour to Basildon.
There is arguably no other British musician who plays to a larger TV audience than Tommy Blaize who, for three months of every year, has played to an audience of millions for the past two decades.
As lead singer of the BBC Strictly Come Dancing band, Tommy's powerful yet sensitive performances have helped create some of the most memorable TV moments of recent times - yet many people do not know his name.
In a career spanning 50 years, first singing in front of a live audience from the age of nine, Tommy has gone on to work with some of the world’s most legendary and renowned artists, including Diana Ross, Queen, The Beach Boys, Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder.
As he turns 60, rather than being the backroom guy who adds vocal magic to the works of Robbie Williams and more, Blaize is stepping out from the shadows for his first headline tour.
Playing almost fifty dates across spring, the Strictly star will visit the Towngate Theatre in Basildon on Thursday, April 18.
As well as performing, Tommy will also be sharing stories from his remarkable career – whether those are about Strictly or some of the A-List stars with whom he’s worked.
Fans will get the chance to get selfies, autographs, and speak to the man himself. He will also host a meet and greet after each show, so he can thank fans personally for spending the evening at his show.
Doors will open at the theatre at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £28.
