POLICE are appealing for witnesses of a commercial burglary after a south Essex town centre shop was "entered by force".

Essex Police is investigating reports of a commercial burglary which saw a business in Rochford targeted in the early hours.

Officers were called to North Street at 5.21am yesterday, where a shop had been "entered by force".

The force's town centre team have been making enquiries, with an investigation ongoing, and police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said in the town: "Our town centre team have attended the location and have been making enquiries. The investigation remains on-going, and we are keen to hear from anyone with any information.
