Dozens of The Body Shop stores are closing across the UK "within weeks" after it was announced the cosmetics chain fell into administration earlier this month.
The Body Shop had already closed seven stores last weeks as part of its administration process, with a further 75 to shut for the final time over the next few weeks.
Administrators from FRP Advisory said the closures will bring its store estate in line with industry rivals and will support “a return to financial stability”.
Basildon's Eastgate shopping centre branch is among the list of stores shutting down over the next six weeks.
The latest announcement will leave the retail firm with 116 stores across the UK. Thankfully for shoppers in Southend, the skincare and cosmetics store in the High Street will be staying open.
Although, its future remains uncertain as Tony Wright, joint administrator, said they remain "fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward".
