A new bar offering axe throwing could open as late as 4am in the middle of Chelmsford.
It is based inside the former Chelmsford nightclub CTZN. CTZN closed its doors in January 2020 after being open for more than half a decade in the city.
Now the building is set to open as a bar offering axe throwing, darts and ice-free curling. An application from Spirits Bar & Games Ltd is seeking permission to open as late as 4am on the site in Springfield Road.
The bar is based near to other bars and clubs including Walkabout and Popworld.
The application to Chelmsford City Council specifically wants permission to open from 10am until 2am on Sunday to Tuesdays, from 10am until 03:00 Wednesday to Thursday and between 10am until 4am Friday to Saturday.
Boom Battle Bar offers similar activities like axe throwing, curling and beer pong. The bar opened in Chelmsford’s Bond Street in 2022.
