A SHOPLIFTER has been sentenced after stealing hundreds of pounds worth of makeup in south Essex.
Essex Police were carrying out high visibility patrols in Wickford High Street on Tuesday when they received information via the area's town link radios relating to an incident of shoplifting.
After carrying out a search of the area, they discovered 45-year-old Clint Wallace with £650 worth of stolen make-up on him.
He was arrested and later charged with theft from a shop.
Wallace, of Groveway, Dagenham, appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court the following day.
He admitted the charge and was given a 12-month community order.
