A CONCERNED member of the public has spotted an air ambulance landing in an Essex city this afternoon.
An Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was spotted landing in Colchester Castle Park at 3.50pm this afternoon.
It is not known the circumstances surrounding the call-out.
Paul Parker, the head gardener at Colchester Castle Park initially thought the helicopter was taking pictures of the castles roof when he saw it circling the area.
He said: “I thought it was a bit unusual, around 3.45pm we saw the helicopter circling the park and then we saw its landing gear come down.
“It hovered and then landed near the children’s playground.
“We don’t usually get helicopters landing in the park, next to a playground full of children.
“It drew in a lot of crowds as people were wondering what was going on.
“The paramedics couldn’t tell me what was going on but said there’s been an incident in the centre and this is the closest they could park.”
The emergency services have been contacted for more information.
