A SOUTHEND comedy club is celebrating winning a prestigious national award for the second year in a row.
Little Smash Comedy Club, held on Sundays at the Alex pub in Alexandra Street, has welcomed comedy stars Russell Kane, Joe Thomas, and Jordan Gray through its doors in recent years.
The club has just won the Chortle Comedy Award for “best comedy night in the south and east”, for the second time.
In a statement, a comedy club spokesman said: “Thanks to all of you who voted for us, Little Smash Comedy has been crowned the undisputed two-time champ.
“We're buzzing that all our hard work and dedication is being recognised, not just by the audience, but across the whole industry.
“We're so proud of what we've built in Southend over the last decade. Watching that packed room of people from all over the county laughing their heads off every Sunday night makes these accolades the icing on the cake.
“We're so chuffed to be cemented in history alongside some of the biggest and best clubs in the country.
“Huge thanks to our Little Smash Comedy family, whose passion and commitment has made us what we are.”
