A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a major crash on the M11.
Police officers, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to a single-vehicle smash between junction 6 and junction 7 near Harlow.
The emergency services leapt into action at about 11:45am on Saturday.
As a result of the incident a man had to be taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries.
Following the crash, both the M11’s northbound and southbound carriageways were closed.
Initial reports from National Highways showed there was approximately three miles of congestion in both directions, causing 45 minute delays above normal travel time.
The southbound carriageway re-opened about 1pm.
