A POLICE station has been closed with the public being warned not to attend.
Essex Police has said its Southend Police Station in Victoria Avenue has been closed.
The closure is a precaution due to a fire alarm activation at the site today, Saturday, March 23.
A police spokesman said: “Currently, we are asking the public not to attend.
“We are on scene with colleagues from the fire service, but at this stage, no one is reported as injured and no fire has been found.
“We are continuing to serve the community, with no disruption to service.
“If you need to report something to us, please call 101 or in an emergency, call 999.
“We will keep you updated as soon as we can.”
For non-urgent matters, reports can be submitted on the Essex Police website or by using its online Live Chat service.
