Motorists are facing severe delays on the A127 this morning - as a result of lane closures caused by emergency gas works.
The works are being carried out by Cadent Gas Works and do not have a fixed finish time.
Reports on Essex Travel News claim one lane on the A127 is closed in both directions at the junction with Pound Lane, between A132 at Nevendon and A130 Fairglen Interchange, for emergency gas work.
Queues are leading back to the the Nevendon Interchange and Rayleigh Wear.
AA Traffic news reports show severe delays of ten minutes and delays easing on A127 Southend Arterial Road Westbound between Rat Lane and Pound Lane.
The average speed is ten mph.
