Two teenagers have been arrested after a fatal crash on the M25 in south Essex.

Essex Police was called at about 11.40pm on Sunday with reports of a crash involving a car and motorcycle at the Mardyke Junction, near Lakeside.

Paramedics were called to the scene but sadly, despite their best efforts, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Part of the roundabout was closed for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene and was reopened about 10.30am this morning.

Two men, both aged 18 and from Essex, have now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving at the scene.

They both remain in custody for questioning.

Prior to this crash, the car was involved in a pursuit involving Kent Police.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct is independently investigating the circumstances surrounding the police pursuit, following a mandatory referral by Kent Police.
