A COFFEE shop at a busy supermarket which had previously been saved is set to be axed, café bosses have announced.
Customers at the Harris and Hoole coffee shop inside the Tesco Extra store on the A127 in Westcliff have been told the eatery will close for good on May 8.
A sign at the tills says Tesco is changing providers and has not renewed Harris and Hoole's lease.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your loyalty over these last few years and hope to see you at other Harris and Hoole shops in this area," it adds.
Harris and Hoole had been due to close at the Tesco store in Prince Avenue in September last year, but the coffee shop remained open.
The chain closed its branch at the Tesco supermarket in Highwoods, Colchester, in June last year, with the supermarket chain later opening an own-brand café in its place.
The Echo has approached Tesco for comment.
