THRILLSEEKERS can test their limits as Adventure Island’s newest £1m ride is finally open.
Vertigo, the Southend theme park’s newest attraction, is officially open to visitors this weekend.
The drop tower will see guests taken high into the south Essex skies on the 38m drop tower, before being plunged back down at speed.
Adventure Island shared the news last night of the ride’s hotly-anticipated opening, which will take place today ahead of its first weekend of operation.

Marc Miller, managing director for the Stockvale Group joined the firm’s head of engineering in Italy in March to test out the ride which was constructed and kitted out in Adventure Island logos before being delivered to Southend.
The "thrilling" 16-seater ride will be even taller than the City Wheel attraction, which opened to visitors in December 2022.
It will also be cycled as a rotating viewing tower on occasion, after the success of the City Wheel with older park visitors.
