DELIGHTED Mae Constance is toasting success after winning a coveted award for her highly-successful south Essex yoga club which she set up after years of teaching in Asia.
The Yoga Club Billericay has won the Muddy Stilettos regional award for best yoga/pilates studio in Essex.
The business was launched by Mae in 2022 when she moved back to the UK after spending seven years in Vietnam.
It was in Vietnam that she learned how to teach yoga and she taught classes in India, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
Thrilled Mae was delighted with the honour from Muddy Stilettos and said winning the award was “amazing”.
She credits her “incredible community” for her success.
She said: “It’s amazing because I came back from Vietnam with nothing and now, I have this incredible studio where I can help hundreds of people.
“Our community is unbeatable - everyone is so friendly and helpful.
“A lot of what we do comes from the heart, everyone really takes care of each other.”
Since its opening, the yoga club has been on a meteoric rise winning its first Muddy Stilettos award in May 2022, just three months after its launch.
Now, as a two-time winner, Mae is looking to expand her business further by adding two more studios, a coffee bar and a reception.
Furthermore, the club is run completely by women, making it an all-female independent business.
Along with regular yoga classes, the club also runs special workshops on weekends.
Mae believes The Yoga Club provides an “extremely important” space for adults.
She said: “It gives people a place to go where they feel safe and happy and can make friends.
“And I think as an adult, when it’s really hard to make friends, having a space like this is so important.
“It has a personal touch to it, and we do things together socially and at the studio.”
Mae and the Yoga Club Billericay will now go through to the National Muddy Stilettos Awards where they will hope to come out on top again.
