A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hospital after a crash on a major Rochford road this morning.
Emergency services were called to Ashingdon Road, in Rochford, at around 7:40am following reports of a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
Essex Police, alongside the East of England Ambulance Service, attend and closed the road whilst they dealt with the crash.
The East of England Ambulance Service has now confirmed the motorcyclist has been taken to Southend Hospital for treatment.
A spokesman said: "We were called just before 7.40am to a road traffic collision involving a car and motorcycle on Ashingdon Road in Rochford.
"Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
"The motorcyclist, an adult man, was transported to Southend University Hospital for treatment for a leg injury."
Essex Police has been contacted for comment by the Echo.
