A MAJOR road set to close next week is among five new public notices across south Essex.

Victoria Avenue will be shut from its junction with Fairfax Drive to its junction with Burr Hill Chase in Southend

This closure is scheduled to be in place from 7pm until 11pm on Thursday while Anglian Water carry out works.

A diversion route will be via Fairfax Drive, Prittewell Chase, Hobleythick Lane, A127 Prince Avenue and Cuckoo Corner Roundabout.


A new South Asian restaurant off the A127 in Westcliff has submitted a bid to sell alcohol.

Jaffna Bites, in Prince Avenue, has applied for a premises licence to allow for alcohol sales on Mondays to Sundays from 8am until 11pm.

Plans to keep two goods vehicles and one trailer at a Rochford industrial estate has been revealed.

T. Hodson of Yard 2, at Welton Way, Purdys Industrial Estate, has applied to use the site as an operating centre for two goods vehicles and one trailer.

Owners or occupiers of land near the operating centre who believe they would be affected should make representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House in Leeds by Wednesday, June 12.


A footpath in Eastwood is set to close for two days next week.

The length of the footpath from Whitehouse Road to Whitehouse Meadows will be shut from Monday to Wednesday.

This will be in place while BT is carrying out new ducting works.

The alternative route for pedestrians will be via Whitehouse Meadows and Whitehouse Road and vice versa.


A new corner shop has applied to sell alcohol on Southend seafront.

24 Hours Soft Drinks Supply has applied for a premises licence for the sale of alcohol from a new drinks store at 50 Marine Parade, Southend.

The business wants to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises from 8am to 11pm each day.
