A TEENAGE boy remains in a “serious but stable condition” after a serious attack involving a knife at Shoebury Garrison, police have confirmed.
Essex Police rushed to Chapel Road, Shoebury, just before 11.45pm on May 19 after a serious assault involving a knife.
A teenage boy was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury which was initially described as life-threatening.
An Essex Police spokesman has now confirmed he is in a serious but stable condition.
A teenage girl was arrested last Tuesday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit attempted murder but has since been released on bail, the force added.
Essex Police has made no further arrests in connection with the attack, which was previously described as an “isolated incident”.
After the attack, Jo Collins, Southend’s district commander, said “extensive inquiries” were taking place.
The senior police officer said: “I would like to reassure our residents that teams from across the force are working together to establish what has happened and our criminal investigation department continue to carry out extensive inquiries.
“We continue to have an open mind about the assault.”
A significant police presence remained at the scene after the attack.
