The Barling Magna Wildlife Reserve is an oasis of peace and tranquillity situated in Barling. A small yet beautiful haven for nature and wildlife. Also full of trees, bushes and wildflowers.
Maintained by volunteers, the park has public access and is open 365 days a year. There are regular organised walks and activity days. As well as days where volunteers can come along and muck in to help maintain the park.
You can explore the wildlife in the reserve from the sanctuary of the hide and bird watching stations. Or choose one of the walks through the reserve to explore the peaceful greenery. Free car parking and bike racks are available for visitors.
Wallsea Island
RSPB Wallasea Island is a magical landscape of marshland, lagoons, ditches and sea. Walk along the seawalls to see the saltmarsh, mudflats and lagoons, where terns dive into the water in summer and huge flocks of waders and wildfowl arrive in winter. There are a number of nature trails to enjoy.
