A FREE three-day music festival taking place later this month has announced its line-up.
The Fake Folk Festival, which raises funds for the annual Leigh Folk Festival, will take place at the Fishermen’s Chapel, in New Road, Leigh-on-Sea, from June 28 to June 30.
Twenty acts are donating their time for free to play the festival.
The event will be headlined by Marine Mammal and the Locals on Friday, The Famous Potatoes on Saturday, and The Gardeners on Sunday.
Music will start from 2pm on Friday and 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday.
An event spokesman said: “We are having a Fake Folk Festival event at the Fishermen's Chapel to raise money for the Leigh Folk Festival.
“All the bands have donated their time free of charge to raise money.
“Entry is free, although we are encouraging as many donations as possible.”
The Leigh Folk Festival has been running for more than 30 years and is staged by Leigh Folk Arts.
The event is not taking place this year due to a lack of new committee members joining, the cost-of-living crisis, and increasing production costs.
Cash and card donations will be collected for the Leigh Folk Festival at the forthcoming event.
