A BABY clothing boutique which has become a hit with big-name stars including Olly Murs and Peter Andre is celebrating ten years of success.

Fred and Noah, in Hurricane Way, Wickford, opened back in 2014 as a makeshift business out of Natalie and Daniel Reynolds’ shed.

However, after gaining a huge social media following the business quickly upgraded and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Now the business, which specialises in creating stylish clothes for babies and children, boasts a number of celebrity customers and is even stocked in Sainsbury’s stores across the country.

The last ten years still seem like a blur to Natalie, as she reflects on the businesses growth from its humble beginnings in a shed in her back garden.

She said: “Social media was responsible for a lot of our success. As soon as we started, we got on Instagram, I wasn’t particularly keen but within a few weeks we had gained traction.

“Our first high-profile visit was Giovanna Fletcher, then Fern Cotton and then we got more.”

Natalie added that the couple’s decision to quite their respective jobs and pursue the business full time “just felt right” after they spotted a gap in the market stylish children’s clothing.

“We make clothing for children that is meant to last, our clothes are handed down, ethically made and produced in the UK,” Natalie said.

“Children have a lifetime to dress like adults, we feel that children shouldn’t have to be dressed like mini adults in jeans. Babies should be able to wear something comfy for instance, they are kids.”

It hasn’t always been easy, the couple faced significant challenges during the Covid pandemic – as all independent businesses did.

However, perseverance saw the business survive and continue onto even bigger successes since.

Natalie said: “From my perspective, 2020 was a huge year for us, we were so busy and after that, business halved.

“I am proud we had the resilience and that we are still here following it,” she said.

To celebrate the achievement, Fred and Noah will be throwing a party for customers on Thursday at their shop in Wickford’s Oban Court on Hurricane Way.
