Pictures show the damage done to a lorry after it hit a bridge on a busy Pitsea road. 

The lorry struck the bridge after hitting a bridge in Pitsea High Road, with the road being blocked since 8.15am this morning.

Images show the front of the skip lorry ripped apart following the crash, blocking the road under the bridge in both directions. 

Traffic has continued to build around Southmayne and Pitsea High Road this morning, causing lengthy delays for motorists.
