NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five south Essex establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in south Essex that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
Southend:
Megami Sushi, a takeaway at Flat A, 16 Alexandra Street, Southend Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 29.
Grate, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Unit 3, Clements Arcade, 9 - 11 Broadway, Leigh was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 26.
The Estuary Cafe, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 18 Palmeira Parade, Western Esplanade, Westcliff was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 1.
Barts Bar, a pub, bar or nightclub at First Floor And Second Floor, 14 - 16 Southchurch Road, Southend was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 29.
The Three Shells, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Three Shells Beach, Western Esplanade, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 8.
