FROM a drink driver to motorists using their phones behind the wheel, these are 10 residents or visitors in south Essex who have been sentenced at magistrates' courts for driving offences in recent weeks.

A VAN driver caught above the alcohol limit has been banned from the roads for almost two years.

Jagir Reehal, of Larke Rise, Southend, was driving a Volkswagen Transporter in Waterden Road, Hackney, when he was found with 112 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres on May 9. The limit is 35.

The 36-year-old admitted the offence at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 24.

He has now been banned from driving for a year and 11 months and ordered to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work.

Reehal must also pay a fine of £250, prosecution costs of £85 and a £100 surcharge to fund victim services.


A MOTORIST found using his phone behind the wheel has been slapped with a fine and points.

Radoslaw Kruk, of Rayleigh Road, Eastwood, was driving a Nissan in Northumberland Avenue, Westminster, when he was found using his mobile phone on November 21.

The 37-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure at Bromley Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday.

He must now pay a fine of £123 and his driving record was endorsed with six points.

Kruk was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £49 and prosecution costs.


A SPEEDING driver caught above a 70 miles per hour limit has been fined almost £500.

Benjamin Hudson, of Victoria Avenue, Southend, was driving a BMW on the M1 in Tingrith when he was caught at a speed exceeding the limit on September 13. 

The 39-year-old admitted the offence at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

He has now been ordered to pay a fine of £460.

Hudson must also pay prosecution costs of £110 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £184.

His driving record was not endorsed with any points.


A MAN caught driving with a revoked provisional licence has been banned from the roads.

Alfie O’Shea, of Thorney Bay Road, Canvey, was driving a Ford S-Max on the M1 in Kislingbury when there was no insurance in force covering the car and he held a revoked provisional licence.

The offences were proved via the single justice procedure and O’Shea was banned from driving for six months at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old must also pay a fine totalling £240, a surcharge to fund victim services of £96 and prosecution costs of £90.


A DRIVER caught using his phone behind the wheel has been banned from driving for half a year.

Tambwe Malamba, 56, of Blenheim Chase, Leigh, was driving an MG in Barton-Le-Willows, North Yorkshire, when he was caught using his mobile phone on July 31.

He was driving the vehicle under a trade licence, but failed to display a trade plate.

Both offences were proved via the single justice procedure at Harrogate Justice Centre last Wednesday.

He must pay a £220 fine, victim surcharge of £88 and prosecution costs.


A WOMAN caught behind the wheel without a licence has been hit with a large fine.

Abiola Allen, of Clare Avenue, Runwell, was driving a Nissan Juke in Prince Regent Lane, Plaistow, east London when she was found without a licence on November 10.

The 62-year-old admitted the offence at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

She must now pay a fine of £461 and her driving record was endorsed with three points.

Allen must also pay prosecution costs of £110 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £184.


AN uninsured driver found behind the wheel has been fined more than £600.

Finley Cole, of Louisa Avenue, Thundersley, was driving a Honda in Albert Road, Plymouth, on September 20 when there was no insurance in force covering the 
car.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court last Friday. 

The 23-year-old has been ordered to pay a fine of £660, a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and prosecution costs of £90.

His driving record was also endorsed with eight penalty points.


A SPEEDING driver has been ordered to pay more than £400 in a fine and costs.

Nathan Walker, of Western Esplanade, Canvey, was driving a Vauxhall Combo on the A390 in Calstock, Cornwall, when he was found at a speed exceeding the 30 miles per hour limit on October 23. 

The 34-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure last Thursday.

He was hit with a £266 fine and three penalty points at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court. Walker must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £106 and prosecution costs of £90.


A MERCEDES driver caught without a licence and insurance has been hit with eight penalty points.

Neiko Simpson, of Ravenscourt Drive, Basildon, was driving an E320 in Old St Mellons, Cardiff, when he was found without a licence and insurance covering the car.

The 29-year-old admitted the offences via the single justice procedure last Tuesday.

Alongside the penalty points, Simpson was also fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £48 and costs of £90 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.


 

A SPEEDING driver caught six miles per hour above the limit has been hit with a large fine.

Olabegiui Akingbade, of Hartington Road, Southend, was driving a Peugeot 3008 on the A406 in Golders Green, London, when he was recorded going at 46 miles per hour on November 17. The limit is 40.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court last Tuesday.

The 50-year-old has now been ordered to pay a fine of £220, a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and prosecution costs of £90.

His driving record was endorsed with three points.
