A NEW beauty clinic has opened its doors in Southend High Street in the former Miss Selfridge building.

The old Miss Selfridge shop, which closed in 2019, was transformed into three shops and nine flats earlier this year after a £1million investment from Southend businessman Aras Ali.

Yesterday, Spa Options became the first of the three new shops to open and was offering customers 50 per cent treatment discounts to mark the grand opening.

The beauty clinic is the second owned by Apoulina Andjou and joins a sister site situated in Sutton Road.

Apoulina, 45, has said that the opening has “been hectic” and she is glad to be able to start taking bookings ahead of an expected boom in summer trade.

She said: “We have had people coming in and out booking appointments, our opening wasn’t flashy but we are open.

“We are speaking to people and have 50 per cent off treatment promotions on offer.

“It’s been a little hectic but I am glad it is all dusted, it is a sweet relief really and with the people we have had through the door, it is so far, so good.

“We do feel the business will pick up at the weekend and the summer will be amazing, everyone will be here to use the beaches and the seafront and around here it will really begin to get busy.

“I now spend most of my time at the new store. In our High Street store people can just walk in and request any treatment, at our smaller store in Sutton Road, you can only book in advance.”

She added that the new store has also been upgraded with five more major high-end pieces of equipment.

“We are now offering hydrofacial treatments and hair removal, we have more advanced technology and that gives us an edge over other places on the High Street,” Apoulina said.

“People can walk in for treatment, we have more staff with our team of three, so we really encourage people to just come in.”
