AN ADORABLE Border Collie at Basildon Dogs Trust is on the search for his forever home.

Two-year-old Hewey, described as friendly yet a tad anxious, is eager to cement a bond with an understanding new family.

A resident at Basildon Dogs Trust, Hewey arrived through no fault of his own.

He exhibits the typical Collie traits of intelligence and energy and thence, thrives on mental stimulation and physical activity.

However, he tends to vocalise his discomfort when left alone and is unfamiliar with car rides.

Despite these quirks, his carers insist a little patience, training and socialisation will mould this handsome Collie into a loving, affectionate companion.

Hewey is suited to an adult-only household, equipped with experience in managing energetic dogs. The conditions also state that Hewey must be the only pet in the home.

Although instantly friendly, he will require his new family to initially maintain a hands-off approach due to his nervous disposition.

Contrary to his sensitive side, Hewey is extremely fond of people and would prefer his new family to be home the majority of the time.

As an active and curious Collie, he devours enrichment games and puzzles.

He is also partial to a tasty treat or two.

For Hewey to comfortably settle into his new home, multiple visits from his potential adopters to the centre are needed, to build up his assurance.

The Basildon Dogs Trust is hopeful that with a bit of understanding, patience, and love, Hewey will soon be wagging his tail happily in his new home.
