NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 14 south Essex establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.

Here are the establishments in south Essex that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:

Southend:

Toulouse Restaurant at Western Esplanade, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 12.

Ozen Japanese Ltd at 497 London Road, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 11.

Megabites Cafe at Adventure Island, Western Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 6.

The Green at Adventure Island, Marine Parade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 6.

Chinnerys at 21 - 22 Marine Parade, Southend was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 8.

Fish And Chip Shop at Adventure Island, Marine Parade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 6.

Hot Dog Bar At Adventure Island at Hot Dog Bar, Adventure Island, Western Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 6.

Basildon:

The Coriander at 436 Whitmore Way, Basildon was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 4.

Aramark Limited at Argos Warehouse, Miles Gray Road, Basildon was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 31.

Greggs Bakers at 54-56 Town Square, Basildon was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 31.

FEAST of Bengal at 9 Meadow Rise, Billericay was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 30.

Britannia Fish and Chips at 69 High Street, Wickford was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 27.

George's Fish Bar at 8 Morris Avenue, Billericay was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 30.

The Oriental Express at Bridge Parade, 3 Perry Street, Billericay was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 27.
