Five adorable pooches at Dogs Trust's rehoming centre in Basildon are in need of new homes.

Honcho, A French Bulldog Cross

Honcho is a small, playful, affectionate 4 year old French bulldog who was returned to the home due to showing unwanted behaviours in the home.

He loves to go out for his walks having a good sniff and exploring around his surroundings, he walks nicely on lead and wears a harness.

He can be left for short periods of time but longer hours should be built up slowly.

Honcho loves his toys especially antlers, nylabones, squeaky toys, soft toys and things that he can lay down with and chew over time.

He is housetrained, crate trained, drops and swaps toys and is good in the vets.

He needs an adult only home with no visiting children who have a good understanding of dog behaviour and able to give him space when needed.

Honcho must be the only pet in the home and will need ongoing dog socialisation in his new home as due to kennel stress he gets fixated and intense when meeting other dogs in the centre.

Rocco, a Siberian Husky

RoccoRocco (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon)

Rocco is a lovely one-year-old boy ready to search for his forever home.

He can live with dog savvy children over the age of 11 years old who are used to excitable bouncy dogs. Rocco must be the only dog in the home but can have walking buddies with a similar play style. Would benefit from a secure garden to explore in. Knowledge of husky breed traits would be desirable as he can be vocal.

Richard, A Dutch Shepherd Cross

Richard Richard (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon)

Seven-months-old Richard loves exploring new places when on walks so will benefit from a family that shares the same pastime of hikes and adventures. He settles nicely for cuddles and fusses once his initial excitement has calmed with new people. Due to his age, Richard can be a little bouncy and still perform puppy traits, which we are sure will settle once he starts to mature.

Jodie, A Border Collie

Jodie Jodie (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon)

Jodie is a 11-year-old collie who to came to the rehoming centre due to no fault of her own and from a previous home.

She is an independent lady, but she is a very friendly bundle of joy, to everybody she meets! She is calm and a very happy girl who accepts lots of fusses.

Jodie is a bit of a foodie and can be a little snatchy with her treats. However, this can be a great way to build a relationship with her and continue any training in her new home. Although she is an elderly lady, do not let this fool you as she still loves to play fetch with her tennis balls.

This girl is full of beans and would be a such a fun addition to her new family. Jodie does have a few medical issues, which our Adoption Advisors can explain further, should you be successful.

Paddy, A Poodle

PaddyPaddy (Image: Dogs Trust Basildon)

Four-year-three-months-old Paddy is a friendly boy but very frightened if people try to interact with him. Although this fearful boy isn’t too keen with being handled, he is a very good boy with great housetraining skills. He doesn’t show any interest in toys or games but does love the company of other dogs. He loves his walks to be accompanied by other dogs and does travel well in the car.
