Dozens of firefighters are at the scene of a blaze at an industrial estate in Rainham.
Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters are battling the fire in Ferry Lane, where two industrial units are alight.
London Fire Brigade said a 25-metre cordon is in place at the scene "as a precaution".
The brigade was called just after 1.10pm and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Fire crews from Barking, East Ham, Wennington, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
