Trains have been cancelled as the c2c line is blocked while police deal with an incident in Basildon.
Due to the police dealing with an incident at Basildon the line is blocked, according to the c2c website.
Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed or revised with disruption expected until 10.30pm.
However, an update from the rail firm will follow within an hour, it says.
Greater Anglia is taking c2c passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
A spokesman said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident at Basildon the line is blocked. Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed or revised."
