Magical Disney World trip for Basildon dance school

The talented pupils at Trinity Stage School, in Vange, were filled with shock and excitement after being given the news by principal Bianca Collins.

Earlier in the year, the school was asked to send in performance videos for an overseas opportunity, and were then told they were one of 10 schools selected from the UK to perform in the USA at “the most magical place on Earth”.

With the performance scheduled for August next year, Bianca says she is “ridiculously proud” of all the work put in by her students.

She said: “I broke the news to them on a video call and when I told them, their little faces were filled with shock, excitement and squealing.

“I kind of auditioned them for the opportunity not expecting anything to come of it, but now we are all so excited to be one of the first schools from the country to perform at Disney World.

“I cannot describe how ridiculously proud I am of them. They work so hard and to see them rewarded like this is amazing.

“I want them to see that if you work hard enough, you can achieve anything.”

The school was started by Bianca in 2013 as a work of passion.

She now conducts classes, including tap, ballet and acrobatics, for 30 students, along with her mother, sister and another teacher at the community hall in Basildon.

However, being a small group, Bianca says they cannot afford the overseas trip by themselves.

“I really want to make sure that I take every student with me for this amazing experience,” said the 35-year-old.

“Unfortunately, we’re a really small school and some of our students come from different economic backgrounds and cannot afford the trip.

“We have already done a car-wash fundraiser, and will also be performing at the Brentwood Theatre, on July 27, to raise money.

“This is the biggest thing we have ever done and I want everyone to be a part of it.”
