Drivers in and around south Essex will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for over the next fortnight.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of up to 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

  • M25, from 5am September 29 2023 to 5am June 29 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 28 to junction 27, lane and slip road closure for consrtuction of new slip road, diversion via National Highways roads.
  • M25, from 5am September 29 2023 to 5am June 29 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 28 to junction 27, lane and slip road closure for consrtuction of new slip road, diversion via National Highways roads.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

  • A282, from 10pm June 24 to 6am July 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 clockwise, junction 31 to junction 1a, Lane closures for painting works.
  • A13, from 10pm June 26 to 5am June 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A13 westbound, junction A126 to junction Stifford Interchange, Lane closure for technology works.
  • A13, from 10pm June 27 to 5am June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A13 eastbound, junction A1306 to junction M25, Lane closure for electrical works.
  • M25, from 11pm June 28 to 6am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 29 to junction 30, Lane closure for Urgent CAT1 Safety Fence repairs.
  • M25, from 5am June 29 to 5am November 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 28 to junction 27, Lane closure for construction of new slip road.
  • A1089, from 10pm July 1 to 5am July 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1089 Nortbound, junction Asda roundabout to junction A13, Lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
