The opening date for a new £27 million Basildon cinema has been revealed - with films to start screening this month.
Following three years of delays that resulted in Vue taking over the empty Empire Cinema in the town centre earlier this year, new bosses have revealed that films will start screening from July 25.
Films being shown from the opening include Deadpool and Wolverine, Twisters, Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2 and all Spider-Man films across August.
Toby Bradon, general manager of Vue UK and Ireland, said: “We’re excited to be bringing Vue and the magic of the big screen to Basildon, just in time for families to enjoy films during the summer holidays.
“Customers will be able to watch the latest blockbusters alongside the very best of British films, content from around the world and a variety of big screen events.”
The cinema features ten screens, stadium-tiered leather seating alongside recliners and high-definition 4k screens.
Cinema tickets are priced from £6.99 and can be booked at: https://www.myvue.com/cinema/basildon/whats-on&day=all
