A POPULAR golf store is set to re-open after a £450,000 revamp with a guest appearance from a professional golfer.

American Golf, the UK’s leading golf retailer, is opening its West Thurrock Retail Park store again after the major refurbishment to make it the one-stop-shop for every golfer.

Golfers of all abilities can test out their swing in two new custom fitting bays with GC3 launch monitors as well as try out the latest putters on the state of the art putting green with a new Puttview P8 system.

Elaine Wrigley, retail, operations and people director at American Golf, said: “Our Thurrock store is an outstanding example of what American Golf can offer and we are looking forward to welcoming golfers of all abilities to help them with their game.

“With the latest industry innovations, technology and products, we hope to inspire all generations of golfers by offering an unparalleled shopping experience.”

The retailer is hosting a VIP launch evening on Wednesday and is encouraging avid golfers of all abilities to visit from 4pm.

The first 50 customers through the door will receive a goodie bag including golf balls, accessories and more.

The evening will include drinks, snacks and competitions for the chance to win new clubs as well as a guest appearance from PGA golfer, golf coach and club designer Ivan Ballesteros, who will be launching his newest putter at the event.

Along with an extended range of American Golf’s top clubs brands, the new store will boast a selection of clothing from sportswear brands including Under Armour, Adidas, Stromberg and FootJoy.
