THE MANAGER of a new authentic South Indian restaurant coming to Southend is preparing to “achieve his dream” as he opens his doors to the public.

Pallavas will be the latest restaurant to hit the streets of the city when it opens at 61 London Road later this month.

The restaurant, which does not have an official opening date yet, is currently nearing the end of renovation work which will help create a large dining space and a small bar.

Sai Allam, the manager of the restaurant, says he is “excited” to bring his food to the area and hopes it will be a big hit among the community.

He said: “I used to have a restaurant at East Ham more than 10 years ago, but that closed and I started working in recruitment.

“Now, I am once again opening my own restaurant as this has always been my dream.

“I am so excited to finally open and bring authentic South Indian food here.

“We got this property four months back and are now just finishing renovations. We should be open before the end of the month.

“We chose to open here because I think the local community is very welcoming.

“There is also a strong Asian and Indian community here but we hope to welcome and serve everyone.”

The 29-year-old owner has moved to Southend from London in order to pursue his dream.

Pallavas will be open throughout the day and offer authentic South Indian breakfast and meals, along with a range of Indian curries, biryanis and drinks.

The eatery will be opening at the site of an old Turkish restaurant - Ali Baba grill.

“I think we offer something different compared to others in the area. We also offer all-day authentic food and breakfast which makes us different,” Sai added.

“I have a really good feeling about this place and I think we will do really well.

“I am looking forward to bringing authentic South Indian food to the people of Southend.”

The restaurant will also offer takeaway as well as sit in meals.
