HOSPITALS across south Essex are ensuring patients don't miss out as England's Euros final against Spain.
The Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity has successfully installed Wi-fi spark at both Basildon and Broomfield hospitals to broadcast the match free of charge on patient bedside TVs.
These costs were covered thanks to the profits from the Staff Lottery.
Lucy Thomas-Clayton, Mid and South Essex Hospital Charity lead, said: "It’s hard for patients who are in hospital convalescing, we wanted to spread a little joy and didn't want patients and staff to miss out on this historic final.
"We hope the atmosphere will bring some needed cheer."
Southend lacks bedside TVs, but Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity has purchased TVs and aerials for most parts of the hospital as it continually funds various initiatives to enhance patient care.
Following England's dramatic win over Holland in the week, England will take on Spain in the final on Sunday.
