Saturday night rail travellers have been warned of disruption until the end of the day after a train derailed at a depot near Southend Victoria rail station.
Network Rail engineers are on scene probing the incident, a statement on X by National Rail said at 9.30pm tonight (Saturday July 13).
Bosses added only one track is available to use between Hockley and Southend Victoria.
The derailment in the depot at Southend Victoria means some lines are blocked and disruption is likely to continue until the end of today (Saturday July 13).
As a result of the derailment, trains travelling to and from this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised, National Rail added.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Issuing customer advice, National Rail said: “Due to a derailment within the depot at Southend Victoria, trains are unable to use platforms 1 and 2 at Southend Victoria.

“Only one track is available to use between Hockley and Southend Victoria. This will lead to delays, cancellations and alterations to services between Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria.
“Network Rail engineers are on site and investigating the incident.”
