A SPEEDING driver caught nine miles per hour over the limit in a main road has been slapped with a fine.

Sy Menh Ly, of Woodfield Road, Hadleigh, was behind the wheel of a Volkswagen on The Highway in Aldgate, east London, when he was recorded going at 29 miles per hour on December 11. The limit is 20.

The 41-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure last Tuesday.

Ly was handed a fine of £103 and three penalty points at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court.

He was also ordered to a surcharge to fund victim services of £41 and prosecution costs of £90.


AN uninsured driver caught behind the wheel on a major road has been ordered to pay more than £1,000.

David Adjei, of Brightside, Billericay, was driving a Mercedes on the A12 in Havering when there was no insurance in force covering the car on January 3.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Bromley Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday.

Adjei, 33, must now pay a fine of £660, a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and prosecution costs of £110, the court ordered.

His driving record was also endorsed with six points.


A MERCEDES driver caught more than 90 miles per hour above the limit on the M25 has been fined.

Jake Stutz, of Woodbridge Way, Stanford-le-Hope, was driving on the motorway in Havering when he was caught by speedometer going at 91mph on June 30 last year.

The 30-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure earlier this year and appeared at Stratford Magistrates’ Court last week. He was fined £80 and told to pay a surcharge of £32 and prosecution costs of £110. Four points were added to his driving record.


A MERCEDES driver caught speeding near an airport has been ordered to pay more than £400.

Jacobus Snyders, of Outwood Common Road, Billericay, was behind the wheel on the A30 Great South West Road near Heathrow Airport when he was found doing 54 miles per hour on December 9. The limit is 40.

The 50-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure and was handed a £269 fine, a surcharge of £107 and £90 prosecution costs at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court. His driving record was endorsed with three points.


A MAN who failed to hand evidence over to a police boss has been slapped with a large fine.

John McCarthy, of Oak Lane, Crays Hill, did not give information to the chief officer of Lincolnshire Police relating to a Ford driver, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on May 21.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old has now been ordered to pay a fine of £660, a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and £110 prosecution costs. His driving record was also endorsed with six points.


A BANNED driver caught using his phone behind the wheel has been ordered to take part in unpaid work.

Liam Briggs was driving a Ford Transit van in Thurrock when he was found using his mobile phone on April 13. Briggs was also banned from holding a driving licence at the time.

The 33-year-old admitted both offences at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court last Friday.

He has now been handed 50 hours of unpaid work, six penalty points and was banned from driving for a further six months.

Briggs, of Songbird Crescent, Chattenden, Kent, must also pay a £50 fine, £85 prosecution costs and £114 surcharge, the court ordered.  


A SPEEDING driver caught at almost 70 miles per hour has been hit with a fine.

Roland Gadea, of Brightwell Avenue, Westcliff, was driving a Citroen on the A16 in Crowland when he was recorded doing 68 miles per hour on February 8. The limit is 60. 

Gadea admitted the offence via the single justice procedure on Tuesday.

He must now pay a fine of £138, a £55 surcharge to fund victim services and £110 prosecution costs, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court ordered.

His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points. 


A MAN who failed to identify a driver to police has been fined more than £600.

Azir Uddin, of Southend Road, Stanford-le-Hope, did not give information to Lincolnshire Police relating to the identification of a Vauxhall driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence on May 23, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure on Tuesday.

The 66-year-old must now pay a fine of £660, a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and prosecution costs of £110.

His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points. 


A DRIVER who ignored double white lines as he performed a U-turn has been hit with a large fine.

Paul Hart, of Oban Road, Southend, was driving a LEVC TX Vista on Aldwych, Westminster, when he performed the U-turn contravening double solid white lines and carried on towards Waterloo Bridge, Bromley Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 51-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure last Wednesday.

He has now been hit with a £220 fine, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £80 and prosecution costs of £110.

His driving record was also endorsed with three points.


A DRIVER who jumped a red light on a major Southend road has been spared a fine.

Fazal Rosul was behind the wheel of a Kia on the A127 when he drove through the red light at the junction with Progress Road on November 23, 2022.

The 31-year-old had denied the offence but changed his plea to guilty at Stratford Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday. He has now been discharged conditionally for six months, meaning he faces no further action if he does not commit any other offence during this time. 

Rosul, of Sydney Road, Ilford, was ordered to pay a £26 surcharge, £85 prosecution costs and received three penalty points.


AN uninsured driver has been banned from the roads for two weeks after he was caught behind the wheel.

Pathum De Silva, of Canvey Road, Leigh, was found driving a Vauxhall Astra on the M4 in Swindon when there was no insurance in force covering the car, Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard on June 25.

The May 27 offence was proved via the single justice procedure. De Silva was handed a £214 fine and was banned from driving for 14 days. The 30-year-old must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £86, the court ordered.


 

A DRIVER caught speeding above a temporary speed limit has been hit with a fine.

Roger Jones, of Montague Way, Billericay, was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Vivaro on the A1 in Water Newton, Cambridgeshire, when he was found going at 51 miles per hour on May 30 last year. The temporary limit was 40.

The 55-year-old admitted the offence at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Jones was ordered to pay a £72 fine and a surcharge to fund victim services of £28.

His driving record was also endorsed with three points. No order for costs was made.


A SPEEDING motorist caught above a 30 miles per hour limit has been spared a driving ban.

Dean Hamlet, of Kingshawes, Benfleet, was driving a Honda Civic in Bickington, Barnstaple, when he was found going above the limit on May 24 last year.

The 52-year-old admitted the offence via the single justice procedure on Tuesday.

He appeared at Bodmin Law Courts where he avoided a disqualification but was fined £333, ordered to pay a £133 surcharge to fund victim services and £90 prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with three points.


A DRIVER caught speeding at double the limit must pay close to £1,000.

Ashley Fitzsimons, of Butts Road, Stanford-le-Hope, was driving an LEVC TX Vista on Vauxhall Bridge Road, Westminster, when he was recorded going at 40 miles per hour on October 11.

The limit is 20.

The 31-year-old admitted the offence at Stratford Magistrates’ Court last Thursday and was hit with a £646 fine. 

He must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £258 and prosecution costs of £90.

His driving record was endorsed with four points.


A FARE dodger caught at a major train station without a ticket must now pay over £200.

Imran Solozai, of Genesta Road, Westcliff, entered London Liverpool Street without having paid a fare on January 5, Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 20-year-old admitted the offence on Monday and must now pay a £40 fine, £6.40 in compensation, a £16 surcharge to fund victim services and prosecution costs of £150, the court ordered. A deduction from benefits order was also made.


A FARE dodger caught at a train station without a ticket has been fined more than £200.

Lee Fisher, of Carroll Gardens, Wickford, entered the ticket area at Romford station, in east London, without having paid a valid fare on February 12, Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court heard.

The offence was proved in his absence last Monday.

Fisher, 29, was handed a fine of £220, ordered to pay compensation of £4.50 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £88.


A FARE dodger caught with a £20.30 train ticket has been fined more than £400.

Radoslaw Fleszar, of The Ridgeway, Westcliff, was travelling on a Govia Thameslink train when he was found at Luton without having paid the valid fare on December 20.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 26.

Fleszar, 33, must now pay a £440 fine and £20.30 in compensation, the court ordered.

He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176 and £135 prosecution costs.


A MAN caught on a c2c train without a £3.10 ticket has been hit with a fine. 

David Odu, of Old Jenkins Close, Stanford-Le-Hope, was travelling from Chalkwell to Stanford-le-Hope when he was found without a valid ticket on March 6, Barkingside Magistrates’ Court heard.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure on Friday, June 28.

The 23-year-old has now been ordered to pay a fine of £220 and £3.10 in compensation.

He must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and prosecution costs of £175, the court ordered.


A WOMAN caught on a c2c train without a £6.90 ticket has been fined more than £200.

Rebecca Radu, 20, was travelling from Barking to Leigh when she was found without having paid the valid fare on January 31, Barkingside Magistrates’ Court heard.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure on Friday, June 28.

Radu, of Desford Road, Canning Town, east London, must now pay a £220 fine and £6.90 in compensation. She was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and costs of £175.
