Three people have tragically died and another is injured following a serious crash on the A13 in south Essex.
The road was closed, just past the Lakeside junction towards London, in Rainham last night after the crash at roughly 10pm last night.
The road remains closed this morning after police officers from both Essex Police and the Met attended the crash, alongside paramedics and the fire service.
This morning the Met Police have confirmed that three people have passed away and another is in hospital receiving treatment.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to the A13 in Wennington Marshes, Rainham, shortly after 1opm on Monday, 15 July to reports of a road traffic collision. Officers attended along with paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.
"Three vehicles were found to have been involved in a collision. Sadly, three people died at the scene. A further person was taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
