Child abuse investigators are appealing for the public's help to locate a man in connection with a report of a serious sexual assault.

Essex Police detectives want to speak with Filimon Destlam, 28 in connection with their ongoing investigation into a report of a sexual assault on a child in Basildon.

He described by the force as a black man, of a slim build with scarring on his face.

In an appeal, Detective Constable Georgina Stroud, from the force's child abuse investigation team, said: “We have been carrying out multiple enquiries to locate Destlam in connection with a sexual assault on a child which was reported in Basildon in 2022.

“He has connections across Essex and London including South Ockendon.

“Our efforts to locate Destlam continue and we are appealing to anyone who has seen him or has information on his whereabouts to contact us or Crimestoppers.”
